Pokhara, July 12: A flood has occurred in Kimrung river of Annapurna Rural Municipality-11 in Kaski district today, posing a risk to the settlements along the river.
Rural Municipality Chairman Bishnu Bahadur KC stated that the flood happened in the lower basin area after the river was blocked by a landslide in the Kimrung area. He said that some physical infrastructures at Syauli bazaar in ward no. 8 of the rural municipality have suffered damage.
“No human loss is reported so far. The people in the downstream have been asked to stay in a safe area,” Chairman KC added. It is said that the local residents were under terror after the flood.
Likewise, Assistant Chief District Officer of Kaski, Chitrangat Baral, said that they are assessing the details of the incident and added that the local residents have been asked to stay alert in view of the disaster. —
