Lumbini budget underlines management of province capital

Dang, June 16: Lumbini Province government unveiled the budget for the fiscal year, 2083/84 on Monday, giving special focus on management of permanent capital of province in Dang. Upgrading of essential infrastructures and health facilities is prioritized for it.

Upgrading of provincial hospital has been accorded priority in budget presented by Minister for Economic Affairs in province, Dhanendra Karki. The second round of infrastructures building in the Rapti Valley (Deukhuri) for well management of federal capital would be accomplished within next year. Construction of a parliamentary committee building and other structures would be intensified, according to him.

The government has allocated budget to demarcate major roads in province capital as per province capital perspective and need of essential infrastructures. Modern technology will be in place in coordination with Rapti Rural Municipality for waste management, according to Minister Karki.

Rs 110 million has been allocated to make a ‘paradise botanical garden’ and associated tourism facilities, which are aimed at spurring development activities. Tourism promotion and construction of Tharu museum in stressed in view of the preservation of ancient Tharu King Dangishara. Rs 40 million has been allocated for establishing the museum.

Similarly, Rapti Provincial Hospital would be upgraded to 200-beds with the investment of Rs 40 million. Strengthening of irrigation system and sustainable use of water are other features mentioned as part of effective management of provincial capital and vicinity.
