NC General Convention: Voting rescheduled for Friday morning

The voting to elect new leadership through the ongoing 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress has been rescheduled for today.

The voting earlier set to be held today (Thursday) was postponed over the adverse weather and technical problems.

Member secretary of the Election Committee under the General Convention, Raju Katuwal, informed that the voting would begin at 7:00pm Friday.

Election would not be feasible at night, he added. The convention had kicked off in the federal capital on October 4.

Owing to large number of candidates and voters, it consumed time for printing ballot papers. The voting time is now set from 7:00am to 3:00pm.

There are 7,317 general convention representatives come from across the country to attend the event.

Coordinator of Election Committee, senior advocate Prem Bahadur Khadka, informed that although most of the preparations were over, voting was not practical during night.

Total 32 senior advocates, including Khadka, have signed the ballot papers for the voting. —-
